I changed up the theme for this blog. The old one was a little too… busy. I like this one a lot more, even though I’m still using the same header. Maybe I’ll get around to changing that too. I will be creating a “mixes” page to organize all the download links so y’all don’t have to sift through all my meaningless blogs.

But hey speaking of stripping things down to its basics…

Some friends and I are trying to make a movie. If you own or know someone who owns any of the following, you can have a supporting part in the movie. You probably have to live in Houston for this.

• Camcorder (yes, I know we’re shit out of luck if we don’t get one of these)
• Sound equipment that we can borrow. Doesn’t need to be pro, but usable. If you happen to be one of the few people who just have a recording mic in their house, this is you!
• A girl who has an on-screen presence, you don’t have to be single but there will be a “date” scene. Absolutely no kissing or dirty stuff. Also, the movie will be a large time commitment.
• A car that can fit four or five people and drive to Hobby airport.

Do not hesitate to contact me! I’m available by AIM, email, and Facebook. Give me a message for further details. I can guarantee you’ll have fun (plus, one of the scenes is gonna be a party).

The sidebar was missing one little <div>. I ended up copying and pasting the original template code back one by one and testing out the site. Got it to work, we’re now 100% Firefox compatible!

Installed Google AdSense, we’ll see how that goes. It doesn’t let me place it under every post, so I’ll just leave it at the top of the page.

I cleaned up the “About Me” on the sidebar, and I put in a full blown autobiography about myself in my Pages. I’m still new to WordPress, but these features are very nifty and useful. Pages and Links are an interesting feature I’ve never encountered before, and they work well into the PHP.

Many of my friends have made very good suggestions for the site, such as adding a link to the top banner and switching from SiteMeter to Google Analytics.

Also, I’ve update the music to not play automatically. I’ve thought about it, and I personally hate other people’s music. Okay, I don’t hate it, I just don’t like it when it plays automatically. I love all music! :)

The mastashih.com main page is now functional. Nice little animation scrolling down from the top of the window. Some have suggested I go Flash for the front splash page. I’m going to stick to Photoshop for now. I used to know how to use Flash MX 2004 a little, but since integration with Adobe, it should be easier now.

There’s still much to tweak with this blog. For now, enjoy the tunes!

I’m getting the hang of this PHP a little. I found a good looking theme and modified it for myself. I’m still exploring the world of blogging. The last time I blogged seriously was more than two years ago, on Xanga.

The way I designed Xanga and Myspace layouts has influenced this current template. Of course, images hosted by Imageshack work well, too. I put a bit more information about myself on the sidebar, unlike many of the blogs I’ve seen over the years. I’m always looking for a link that says “View More Pics,” on other people’s blogs, so I’ll be adding my own soon.

I got the name “Masta Shih” from my geography teacher back in high school. Mr Wainright was calling roll, and when he got to my name, he said “Master Shih,” for no apparent reason. I guess it just stuck.

Oh, and in a true Myspace manner, the music plays automatically. You gotta press that tiny pause button to turn it off. :)
