Adsense
Sunday, June 8th, 2008Thanks to the Schwed, I realize that Firefox blocks Google Adsense ads. So. Wow, I’ve got another reason to dislike Firefox. But that’s okay, I’m thinking of implementing another way to cover my expenses. Shameless plugs? What do y’all think?
Ever since I hit the age of puberty, my parents told me never to shave my face. Actually, it was mostly my dad. He’s got a good nice beard that he has to shave everyday. I’m an older person now, and I’ve got to shave just about every week or so. I’ve always used an electric, but lately I’ve been discovering the razor kind. Gillette sent me like 3 of their new Fusion razors, and they shave pretty damn close. We get them in the mail, and my tells me to (literally) stay the hell away from them. Because if you shave with a manual razor, the hair will grow back thicker and coarser and faster and the sky will fall. I’m kind of curious about this, mainly because girls shave with manual razors on their legs, no? So wouldn’t most women out there have fuzzy bear legs by the end of the day? I did what any other normal person would do. I Googled it. I found some site that says razors, electric and manual, do not make hair grow back coarser. My first response is “Wtf, my dad is never wrong </sarcasm>.” I mean, I’m not a hair or skin specialist, but what this site says makes sense. Mayoclinic. I’m trying to explain to my dad about hormones and genetics, but I’ve gotta do it in Chinese. I definitely do not know how to say “hormones and genetics” in Chinese. He doesn’t believe me at all. He’s always telling me to not be stubborn and be open to other people’s ideas. How if I’m not open to other people’s ideas, no one will like me. How I’m a smart kid, but I don’t know everything just yet. Good one, Dad.
Yesterday was my last Saturday in Houston. I woke up at 9 to meet up my friend Erika at the Galleria. She’s a cool gal. :) A little crazy and random at times, but cool. I bought some tees because it’s summer and I need them. She had to go home at 2, so I drove up north to pick up my friend Jonathan and drive back down to southwest for some Zuma! It’s been a while since I drove a go-kart, and it was a lot of fun. The sun beat down on us, but there was quite a bit of wind so it wasn’t too bad. We played extreme putt-putt golf; trying to chip the ball over rivers and onto other holes. We hit up Yangtze for dinner, in Chinatown. Ah the food was so good, and so cheap. Of course we drained all our waters because we had been sweating all afternoon. Afterwards, Vigil wanted some Asian+ charms so we hit up Welcome plaza for T & P Gift store. The half balding owner was inside, but he signalled with his hands that they were closed. Jonathan says through the glass, “We just wanna buy something.” So I join him to go inside because well, Jonathan is not Chinese. He buys a small rosewood lucky fat man keychain (commonly confused with Buddha) and little drums that hang and say 平安 (ping an). We went to Harajuku Loft, and Sisi Zhang works there. Word. Since Vigil absolutely loves steamed rice, he says he can eat bowl after bowl of it, he found a rice bowl cell phone charm. His cell phone is murdered out on Asian stuff.
We made the drive back up to Cy-Fair to hit up a party, supposedly my last one in Houston. It was okay, but the girl whose house it was at was FREAKING OUT the whole time. Especially after someone got their ass kicked across the street, it was like 30 minutes of people walking in and out. Got back to Jon’s at 2.
I’m all finished packing my bags for college. I just don’t want to forget anything. Leaving for Austin tomorrow around 9 am. Next blog will be from Duren Hall in Austin!
